Colon Cancer Screening

  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy - endoscopic procedure used to screen for colon cancer and colon polyps. This can be done at the time of your examination for individuals in which colon screening is indicated.
  • Colonoscopy - this is an endoscopic procedure that examines your entire large bowel (colon) for colon cancer and pre-cancerous changes. It should be done every 10 years starting at age 50. This test can be arranged through one of our specialty consultants.
  • Virtual colonoscopy - some individuals may prefer to undergo colon screening via a less invasive procedure such as CT colonography.
