Laboratory Testing

Each Executive Physical Includes:

  • Laboratory TestingCalcium and Phosphorus - measures ions in the body that are associated with bone and many other body processes.
  • Cardio CRP - measures the C-reactive protein in the blood. High levels are an indicator of inflammation and heart risk.
  • Complete Blood Count - provides important information about the kinds and numbers of cells in the blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets which can be used to diagnose conditions such as anemia, infection and other disorders.
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel - measures your blood sugar level, electrolyte and fluid balance, kidney function and liver function. Used to detect diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease.
  • Insulin Level - helps identify individuals with insulin resistance who are at an increased risk for diabetes.
  • Iron and Ferritin - measures iron levels in the blood as well as iron storage.
  • Lipid check - measures blood levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides to help determine your risk of heart disease.
  • PSA - for men over 40 years old-measures a substance produced by the prostate gland which helps detect prostate cancer.
  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone - used to detect problems affecting the thyroid gland.
  • Uric Acid - measures uric acid levels in the blood produced from the breakdown of your body's cells. High levels are associated with gout.
  • Urinalysis - analyzes urine using a multi-test dipstick to screen for pH level, protein content, glucose level, ketone level and the presence of blood.
  • Vitamin D 25- Hydroxy - measures Vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is important in bone health as well as heart and cancer prevention.

The physicians are able to compare results from previous examinations to identify new conditions and follow progress on previous health concerns.
