Dr. Player had logged many all-night sessions with dying patients during his 30 years as a kidney specialist, and believed that many of those patients could have lived longer and healthier had they been given access to a health care system that focuses on preventive care.
He founded Health By Design in 1982 - because he believed that medicine is a ministry, a higher calling in which physicians should serve and heal, in personal relationships of mutual trust with the patient.
